Whole grain bread (tender newbies may be encouraged by smoother "chunk-free" versions, adventurous eaters may enjoy very grainy breads)
Spreads
Cream cheese
Hummus (remind them this is "mashed beans with tasty flavorings")
Mashed avocado
Vegetables & Fruit (whatever is available from your garden)
Radishes, sliced
Cucumbers, pre-shredded and drained
WATERCRESS (the classic tea sandwich)
Microgreens or sprouts
Shredded carrots
Beets, shredded, julienned, even pickled
Peas, snow peas
Apples
Pears
Stone fruit, thinly sliced
Directions

Allow students to apply one spread of their choice to one slice of bread.

Have students choose one or more vegetables or fruit to add on top of spread.

Optional: another slice of bread on top.

Arrange beautifully on serving plate, and add garnish.
