Blueberry Smoothie

Yields1 Serving

 1 banana, chopped
 1 pear, peeled, cored and chopped
 ¾ cup frozen blueberries
 1 cup ice cubes + water to thin, if needed
 8 oz vanilla yogurt (does not need to be Greek-style)
 mint, whole blueberries, or peel of pear to garnish
Alternate Ingredients (Fruits)
 Black Currants
 Concord Grapes
 Dried Plums
 Grape Juice (100%)
 Purple Figs
 Purple Grapes
Alternate Ingredients (Vegetables)
 Black Olives
 Purple Asparagus
 Purple Cabbage
 Purple Carrots
 Purple Belgian Endive
 Purple Peppers
 Potatoes (purple fleshed)
 Black Salsify

Combine all ingredients in blender or food processor, blend until smooth. Serve immediately, before ice crystals melt.


Note: Smoothies are infinitely flexible! Use what you have on hand, and whatever you prefer. Whatever you add to a smoothie with blueberries will probably keep a primarily blue-purple color, so enjoy!
